CALL TO ORDER

PUBLIC HE= ARING –Solicit comment on a Municipal Bond in the amount of $7,300,000 for the purpose of constructing= a Central Fire Station

Mr. Gleason read the proposed Warrant Article aloud as follows:

Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $7,300,000 gross budget for the construction of a n= ew Central Fire Station and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to issue $6,9= 00,000 in bonds or notes in accorda= nce with the provisions of the Municipal Budget Act RSA 33;and to authorize the Selectmen to nego= tiate and determine the rate of in= terest thereon and the maturity and the other terms thereof not to exceed a term = of fifteen (15) years and to take any= other action they deem appropriate to effectuate the sale and/or issuance of said bonds or notes and additionally to apply $400,000 of impact fees to the construction project and also raise and appropriate the sum of $25,000 for= the first year’s interest and costs.&nb= sp; Recommended by the Selectmen. 3/5 vote required.

There was no public com= ment given.

Fire Chief Michael Walker thanked the Selectmen for t= heir efforts/support to move the warrant article forward. He said the project would be done= right the first time and it would benefit the Town for years to come.

Mr. Gleason thanked the Chief for coming forward. He said the Selectmen had support= ed the bond and felt it was the number one priority in the Town this year. The number of warrant articles ha= d been limited so focus could be given to the critical needs of the fire department.

Mr. Gaydos indicated that since the DRA sent back some alteration on the wording of the bond, it was recommended by Bond Counsel = that the hearing be held and the Board should formally adopt the wording change.
