OCTOBER 2007 ART EXHIBIT

For the month of October 2007, the Library is featuring the work of Japanese Bunka Embroidery artist Beverly A. Enos.

Bunka, as it is commonly known, is a form of Japanese Cultural Embroidery. It is often called "painting with thread" since the finished effect is one of a painting, the thread providing the texture and the colors and workmanship providing the depth. Bunka embroidery is done through the top of the fabric with a punch needle. The synthetic thread stays in place without knotting when punched through the tightly woven fabric.

Beverly Enos has both Japanese and American Master’s certification in the art of Bunka embroidery and has been stitching, teaching, and designing for over 30 years.

For more information about Ms. Enos’ award-winning work, copyrighted designs and classes, contact her at:
