FEBRUARY 2007 ART EXHIBIT:

Teresa Ferullo

In February 2007, the Library is featuring Pelham artist Teresa Ferullo's work in oil, pastel and pencil.

Teresa Ferullo’s family has collected art since 1829.  Growing up in Chelmsford, MA, a drawing of a cricket from her great-great grandfather graced the walls of her parents’ home with many other works of art in pen and ink and watercolor.  Creating art also runs in the family:  her father is an artist and photographer, her brother has a degree in Art from SMU, and Terri has loved photography as long as she can remember.

When earning her B.S. from University of Lowell, she was able to indulge her love of photography as president of the photography club and on the yearbook photography staff. Terri has also taken private art lessons from Jane Causey Mitcheson of Winchester, MA and at Hammar & Sons Art Studio in Pelham.

She loves drawing children.  She has written and illustrated a book titled, Baby Mine and has also created a phonemic early reader called, Pat Is It.

Joining the Pelham Gardeners Group inspired her to photograph nature and, in turn, create beautiful works of art.  The purple irises were her grandmother’s, then her mother’s, and now hers.  She is painting a triptych to include other family irises – yellow, golden and maroon bearded.  Terri has also painted portraits of several homes, including their gardens.

Pelham has been home to Terri and her husband for fifteen years.  She has three children and thousands of photographs!  She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Education at Rivier College.
